Maumee Valley Adventurers and Metroparks invites you to participate in the 40th anniversary Tombstone Bicycle Tour and Family Haunted Bike Ride, Sunday, October 22, with all new routes starting at a new location, Oak Openings Preserve.

Ride in the park and country roads, and be sure to wear your costume!

The tour begins and ends at the Buehner Center at the Mallard Lake area. The routes are well-marked with orange arrows before and after each turn. A new a 15-mile loop added this year winds past six cemeteries and will include a “selfie challenge.” A new long route, a 25-mile loop to historic Providence Metropark, allows you to visit a restored, working lock on the Miami & Erie Canal, a mule-drawn canal boat and a water- powered sawmill. More adventuresome riders can combine both loops for more than 40 miles.

Register (or check in if pre-registered) and start riding from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Buehner Center.

Family Haunted Ride

Designed for families with children 12 and under, the Family Haunted Ride also begins and ends at the Buehner Center. Young, costumed riders and their families can take a 3 to 5 mile, guided spin within Oak Openings.

Two groups each will start at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. Pre-register online to receive time confirmation. Day of ride registration is on a space available basis. Check-in begins 30 minutes before each ride

All children receive goody bags and  photo. Come dressed in your Halloween costume.

Helmets required for all participants.
