The SR295 bridge over the Maumee River from Providence Township to Grand Rapids will close for 50 days beginning today. The project will affect operations at Providence Metropark in several ways:
- The new Kuhlman Landing parking area adjacent to the bridge will be closed
- For about the first four weeks of the closing, the canal boat will travel east from its dock to avoid passing under the bridge. Those trips will not include passage through Lock 44.
- Getting to Providence from the Wood County side of the Maumee River will require a 19-mile detour using the SR 109 bridge in Liberty Center, or a 24-mile detour using the Waterville Bridge.
