Metroparks After Dark

Do early sunset times have you lamenting the loss of your after-work walk or bike ride in the park? Enjoy an evening hike or bike ride through your parks at a time when the parks are usually closed.

Metroparks After Dark: Mountain Bike Trails

Come out and ride the trails after dark! This is for those who have all the proper handlebar lights, headlamps, and tail lights required for night mountain biking. Recommended ages are 16 and over. Please bring a riding buddy for safety and don't ride alone.

For the safety of our riders: All users must sign in on a clipboard at the kiosk. Metroparks asks for your name, phone number and vehicle information. Riders must be on the trail no later than 7 p.m. - a volunteer sweep rider will leave at that time.

Metroparks has a limited supply of lights that are available to rent for $5 on a first come, first serve basis, credit card payment only. You will need to leave your driver's license with staff if you rent lights.

Oak Openings Preserve, Beach Ridge Area, No reservations required.

Do early sunset times have you lamenting the loss of your after-work walk in the park? Enjoy an invigorating evening hike through your parks at a time when the parks are usually closed. No registration required; just show up!

Headlamps or flashlights strongly encouraged. Hiking buddies are also strongly encouraged so bring a friend! All hikers must follow social distancing guidelines. Sturdy hiking shoes are recommended, dress for the weather. This program is dog-friendly for friendly dogs except at Toledo Botanical Garden (TBG) where dogs are not permitted. This area will be open regardless of the weather. No registration required.
