Learn to Skate at The Ribbon

Learn to skate at The Ribbon ice skating trail at Glass City Metropark with instruction from Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter.

These classes introduce the basic ice skating skills that are necessary to skate safely and competently, whether for figure skating, ice hockey or recreation.

Skate with the Toledo Walleye

Wednesday, February 7, 5 to 7 p.m.

It’s your chance to skate with current Walleye players at the Ribbon at Glass City Metropark! Join us on Wednesday, February 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. as select Walleye players will skate with fans on Toledo’s new outdoor ice skating trail. Admission to skate The Ribbon is $10 and it includes rental skates if needed. Advanced reservations are highly recommended at www.metroparkstoledo.com/theribbon.

There is no admission required to visit The Ribbon and Market Hall and participate in the meet and greet with the Walleye players. Reservations are only required to skate on The Ribbon.

Participating Walleye players will be announced closer to the event date.

Glow Skate Series at The Ribbon

The Ribbon transforms into a glowing wonderland on February 16. Glide on ice under the enchanting glow of neon lights, creating an unforgettable ambiance that will create a mesmerizing and Instagram-worthy experience.

For those looking to elevate their experience to the next level, reserve your very own Cabana overlooking the ice skating ribbon. Enjoy dinner, drinks and ice skating in your own exclusive heated cabana with a dedicated fire pit. ONLY 6 AVAILABLE.

For couples looking to enjoy a worry-free evening, we've got you covered! We’re offering a special kids drop-off event at the nearby Glass City Enrichment Center. While you and your partner immerse yourselves in the winter fun of The Ribbon, our expert programming team will ensure your little ones are entertained and engaged in a fun-filled evening of activities.

As the sun sets and the park quiets down, it is time for a Kid’s Night Out. Leave your adults at the door and come explore. Put your sleuth skills to the test as we investigate animal evidence to uncover and interpret nature's fascinating mysteries. Discover how animal researchers collect and gather data to help endangered and threatened species. Adults are asked to provide a call or text no later than 15 minutes before pick-up if picking up early. Registration includes a dinner of cheese or pepperoni pizza and a snack. This is a drop-off program, dress for the weather, bring a full, reusable water bottle.
