Insect Monitoring

The following insect monitoring programs are facilitated by either trained volunteers, staff, or universities and partner organizations.  Due to the fact that insect populations are declining in many areas of the world as a result of habitat loss, climate change, and pesticide use, it is important to consistently monitor the status of our local insect species.  Many are considered habitat “specialists,” or bio-indicators and can act as solid measures of environmental quality as they are monitored long-term.
