Does your 8 to 12 year old love to explore the outdoors? Sign them up for one or all of the Adventure Kids Club programs! This monthly, drop-off program travels to different parks with new adventures and experiences at each program. 

Winter Animals 
Swan Creek, Yager Center
Saturday, January 29, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. [Register]
Registration Required, Fee: $15 

This program focuses on how animals survive and thrive in the winter. Put your sleuth skills to the test as we investigate animal evidence to uncover and interpret nature’s fascinating mysteries. Enjoy a scrumptious campfire hotdog and mac-n-cheese lunch, or bring your own.   

Kid's Night Out
Pearson, Macomber Lodge
Friday, February 11, 6 to 9 p.m. [Register]
Registration Required, Fee: $15

Shake off those winter blues with a special evening program just for kids! Learn about nocturnal animals on a night hike, make Valentines for wildlife, participate in fun camp games, and enjoy a tasty pizza and s’mores dinner. Need a date night? Adults can enjoy the Valentine’s Day Celebration just around the corner at the Packer-Hammersmith Center, separate registration required.  

Survival Skills
Oak Openings Preserve, Oak Openings Lodge
Saturday, March 5, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. [Register]
Reservations Required, Fee: $15  

Test out your survival skills- fire and shelter building, being resourceful, and most importantly how to stay safe when adventuring. Participants will make a campfire grilled cheese and s’mores for lunch.  

Canoeing and Fishing
Side Cut, Silver Lake parking lot
Saturday, April 9, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. [Register]
Reservations Required, Fee: $15

Explore Side Cut Metropark and the animals that call Silver Lake home. Discover local aquatic wildlife through an afternoon of canoeing and fishing. Participants will customize their own walking taco lunch.

Please Note: These are drop-off programs. This program runs rain or shine. Please dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear. No flip-flops. Please bring a full reusable water bottle. All participants ages 10+ and staff are required to wear a mask while indoors. Masks are not required outdoors if social distanced. Mask breaks are allowed when appropriate.
