Another 10 Years of Clean, Safe, Natural Metroparks.
Thanks to the overwhelming support of Lucas County voters in the November 7 general election, Metroparks can continue its mission for another decade. That’s 10 more years of clean, safe, natural parks open free of charge every day of the year.
Passage of the park district’s levy renewal with 75 percent of the vote was the biggest win for a Metroparks issue in nearly 40 years, and the largest of the 50 parks and recreation-specific levies on the ballot in Ohio.
Across the state, voters approved all six metropolitan park district levy requests, and 37 municipal or township parks and rec issues. The message was clear: Ohioans value parks, recreation and open space.
For nearly 90 years, Metroparks has preserved Lucas County’s natural treasures. With your continued support, that legacy will continue for generations to come.
On behalf of the Board of Park Commissioners, the staff and volunteers at Metroparks: Thank you, Lucas County!
