Call For Entries: Weather Phenomenon Photo Exhibit
The National Center for Nature Photography at Secor Metropark is accepting submissions for photography exhibit next year, “Weather Phenomenon.” The intent is to display the finest, most dramatic examples of weather photography, and to inform the public of weather and the dynamics of weather.
Selected photos will be on exhibit from June 1 through August 31, 2019.
Eligibility
Submissions are open to all photographers. All works submitted for the exhibit must be original by the photographer.
Procedure
Entrants may submit up to 10 entries of original work. There is no submission fee. Selections will be made from digital images in the form of .jpg files. The files should adhere to the following criteria for evaluation: 1080 pixels on the longest side. Maximum resolution of 300dpi, with a maximum file size of 2MB. No physical slides or PowerPoint style presentations allowed.

1. Files may be submitted on CD, flash drive or via email to Shannon.hughes@metroparkstoledo.com
2. Image files should be labeled with the artist's last name and numbered to correspond to the submission form (i.e. Smith_1.jpg). Photographers must include detail as to what the submitted photograph portrays, and where the image was made (i.e. Smith_1jpg detail, Frontal passage, Ft Wayne, IN 2003).
3. Submissions must be received by January 15, 2019. The form may be submitted as a .pdf and accompanied by the photographs via email. If mailing submissions, address to Weather c/o Shannon Hughes, 5100 West Central Ave., Toledo, Ohio 43615. In all cases, include a current email address for communication.
5. Notification of acceptance will be made to the artist by email the week of February 17, 2019.
Presentation
Accepted photographs will be professionally printed, mounted and matted for the exhibition by Metroparks Toledo. Metroparks reserves the right of display of the produced prints and may use the prints at venues outside of the National Center for Nature Photography. Metroparks Toledo will retain the prints produced for the exhibit as Metroparks Toledo property. All copyright privileges, outside of the produced and retained prints, remain with the artist. No works printed by the National Center for Nature Photography will be provided to the artist.
Sales
Metroparks will not be involved in the active sale of artwork, but will provide visitors to the show with contact information for the artist. The artist must provide permission by providing business cards or contact information for interested purchasers. Metroparks will not take commission on any sales.
Acceptance of Submission
If a submitted photograph is selected for display, the artist will be notified via the provided email. An enhanced submission may be requested depending on the clarity and size of the desired print.
Insurance
All accepted entries will be insured while on display by the National Center for Nature Photography.

Acceptance notification via email: week of February 17, 2019.
