Fireworks in the 419 Viewing along Glass City Riverwalk: Glass City Metropark, Middlegrounds Metropark

Spend the day at the park, enjoy views of the City of Toledo fireworks on the Toledo Riverfront.

Plan ahead to enjoy stunning views of the downtown Toledo fireworks from Glass City Metropark or Middlegrounds Metropark. See below for details and information about viewing the fireworks from your Metroparks along the Glass City Riverwalk.

📍 Glass City Metropark, Downriver (1521 Front St.)

PARK ACCESS & PARKING

  • All vehicles must enter the park at 1521 Front St., shared with the National Museum of the Great Lakes. This will be the ONLY entrance open to Glass City Metropark, Downriver for the entire day on July 4.
  • Gates at Riverside Dr. & Morrison Dr. (near Glass City Pavilion) and Front St. & E. Broadway (near Grosbeak Play Area) will be closed to vehicle entry all day.
  • The main parking lot at Market Hall & The Ribbon will fill first. Additional lots and overflow plans will be used as needed, with park traffic managed by Metroparks Rangers.
  • After 8:30 p.m., when all parking lots and overflow parking area are full, all gates will close to vehicle traffic. Only walk-in visitors will be permitted.

ROAD CLOSURES & PARK EXIT PLANS

Road Closures Impacting Glass City Metropark, Downriver:

  • 9 p.m. – MLK Jr. Memorial Bridge closes to vehicles. Reopens after fireworks when pedestrian and marine traffic clears.
  • 9:45 p.m. – Front St. (Main St. to E. Broadway) closes to vehicles. Reopens after fireworks when traffic clears.

Plan Your Exit:

  • Vehicles will all exit LEFT onto Front St. toward I-280. Metroparks Rangers will direct all exit traffic.

FIREWORKS VIEWING AREAS

All common park areas open for fireworks viewing. We will have two Event Zones at Glass City Metropark, Downriver offering food and beverage services.

There is no alcohol allowed at Glass City Metropark outside of licensed Event Zone areas.

PARK AMENITIES

  • Mini-Maumee Water Play: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Mercy Health Fitpark Climb Rock Climbing: 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Ribbon Roller Concession: 11 a.m. – 9:30 p.m. (No new rentals after 9 p.m.)
  • Playgrounds close at dark
  • The Ribbon lights turn off at 10 p.m. for fireworks visibility

📍 Glass City Metropark, Upriver @ 30 Main St. (formerly International Park)

PARK ACCESS & PARKING

  • All vehicles must enter the park at 30 Main St.. This will be the ONLY entrance open to Glass City Metropark, Upriver for the entire day on July 4.
  • Gates off of Miami St. and inside the park near the volleyball courts will be CLOSED to vehicles the entire day, until after the fireworks show concludes.
  • The parking lot next to The Docks restaurant complex is a private parking lot for restaurant patrons only.
  • The large public parking lot behind The Docks restaurant parking lot is open to those arriving to view the fireworks.
  • The park entry & exit on Main St. will CLOSE at approximately 9:45 p.m. – no vehicles may enter or exit until after the fireworks.

  • Vehicles will all exit onto Miami St. toward I-75. Metroparks Rangers will direct all exit traffic – there will be NO exit onto Main St. after the fireworks.

All common park areas open for fireworks viewing.

There is no alcohol allowed at Glass City Metropark, Upriver

📍 Middlegrounds Metropark @ 111 Ottawa St.

PARK ACCESS & PARKING

  • Gates CLOSE to vehicles at 5 p.m.
  • There is no parking available at Middlegrounds Metropark for the fireworks. Walk-in access only after 5 p.m.

FIREWORKS VIEWING AREAS

All common park areas open for fireworks viewing.

There is no alcohol allowed at Middlegrounds Metropark.
