Halloween Fun in the Metroparks
Let’s have some fun outdoors in the crisp, autumn air. This Halloween season, we have new challenges on the Metroparks archery course, scary stories by lantern light, a movie night under the stars and family-friendly bike rides.

The zombie apocalypse is upon us and Metroparks needs your help. The park district staff has turned Westwinds Metropark into another world for a free nighttime, Halloween-themed archery shoot. Snacks and a campfire will keep you warm and full for the fight.

Trunk or Treat

Join us for the first Trunk or Treat. This event provides a safe environment for families to experience Halloween fun for free. Explore 12 spooky stations across the gardens while collecting candy or enjoy our Halloween activities, including a scavenger hunt, music, fall snacks and costume contest. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Children are encouraged to wear costumes.

Ghosts of Providence

Meet characters from long ago on this lantern-light tour in the real ghost town of Providence, Ohio.

Tombstone Bicycle Tour
& Family Haunted Bike Ride
Oak Openings, Buehner Center
Wear your bike-friendly costume and a helmet for a Halloween-themed bike ride. Chili lunch is included for all participants in both rides events.

- Tombstone tour: Join Maumee Valley Adventurers and Metroparks for a four-decades tradition. Ride 15 or 25 miles on park trails and surrounding roads, past six cemeteries, or combine the two routes for a 40-mile adventure.
- Family Haunted Bike Ride: For families with younger children. A guided ride inside Oak Openings Preserve. See the link above for time slots and other details.

Halloween Movie Night
Oak Openings Preserve, Beach Ridge Area, Wheelhouse
It'll be a ghostly autumn evening at our newest location, the Beach Ridge Area of Oak Openings. We'll be showing Casper - Casper is a funhouse ride filled with laughter, excitement and ghostly surprises, a comedy for the whole family.
Casper will be showing inside the Wheelhouse. We'll light campfires for toasting s'mores on the patio, and a movie wouldn't be complete without popcorn.
Casper, campfires, s'mores, popcorn — how does an evening get better than that - tours of the Cannaley Treehouse Village that's how! Tour the Cannaley Treehouse Village before or after the movie.
