New Podcast, Videos Coming From WGTE and Metroparks

Metroparks Toledo and WGTE Public Media are teaming up to produce a series of short documentaries about conservation topics, a podcast series featuring Metroparks visitors and a video series featuring middle school students competing in outdoor skills.

The collaboration, called “Nature in Action,” is designed to educate, engage and inspire the community through three complementary content series:

  • The Living Wild, a five-episode, short form video series about conservation featuring Metroparks natural resources department staff and volunteers discussing their important work to preserve the region’s natural resources.
  • Nature Clash, an eight-episode, high energy competition video series aimed at middle school-aged students. The series is hosted by Randy Thomas, also known as “5K,” a University of Toledo graduate who recently appeared in a Netflix competition series, “All the Sharks,” that combined exploration, science and education.
  • A Walk in the Park With…, a 10-episode podcast exploring the intersections of nature, work and wellness through interviews with Metroparks visitors. The show is hosted by Erin Holden, a Toledo freelance writer and editor-in-chief of the Toledo Free Press.

WGTE is providing story development in collaboration with Metroparks experts, video and production services, project management, promotion and content distribution through WGTE Public Media and Metroparks digital and social media platforms.
