Paula Domitio
Born, raised, married, worked and retired in Toledo.
How do you lend a hand at Metroparks?
Docent, Tea Lady, Christmas, Ice Cream Social, Music in the Manor and special events.
How long have you volunteered at Metroparks?
I have been a volunteer for Metroparks for 8 years.
Why do you give back to your community?
As a retired teacher, I know the importance of service to your community. It provides me an opportunity to educate visitors about our park's unique history, landscape, and wildlife.
Why do you volunteer at Metroparks?
Our favorite family vacations always involved visiting a National Park. I wanted to continue that sense of adventure and nature in my own community.
Your favorite park, trail or activity at Metroparks?
Wildwood Preserve and the Manor House.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
Both my parents worked and retired from Champion Spark Plug.
What is the best thing (or some of the best things) about volunteering at Metroparks?
The diverse guests we have visit the Manor House. I had the pleasure of taking the "Wizard of Oz" on a tour. He and a musician were taking some time to relax from the local musical. I was thrilled. I have given tours to visitors from many states, foreign countries, young and old --they always find something interesting and promise to visit again. That all makes it worthwhile.
