Tattoos Beat The Blues, Help Send Kids to Camp
Andrea Baker is a tattoo artist who loves nature and helping people beat the winter blues. Now her efforts will also help send kids to summer camp.
Andrea, who calls herself “a real tree hugger,” made a special offer over the winter to her clients at Infinite Art Tattoo in Toledo: cheer up with a colorful new tattoo and the proceeds will be donated to Metroparks.
“I created and tattooed little leaves for people suffering from depression,” Andrea said. “The leaf is a reminder that communing with your natural environment is essential for a healthy existence.”
This week, Andrea donated $500 from the promotion to Metroparks, and the Metroparks Members program matched her gift. The $1,000 will help send kids to Connections Camp, which serves children who may not otherwise have the opportunity to go to summer camp.
With the support of donors like Andrea, this year Metroparks hopes to serve 2,000 local children through Connections Camp.
