Treehouse Campaign Tops Goal

Thank you, Toledo. We did it!

The campaign to raise $1.5 million to privately fund the nation's largest public treehouse village has surpassed its fundraising goal thanks to the generosity of the community. Individual donations during the Days of Giving campaign pushed the total over the top.

Funds raised beyond the original goal will allow for additional features to be added to the Cannaley Treehouse Village.

Closing sponsors were Yark Subaru, Buckeye Broadband and ThermaTru.

Retailers throughout the region participated in the campaign, including a check-out round up program that continues through today at the two Walt Churchill's Markets. Balance Pan Asian Grille, SIP Coffee, Earnest Brew Works, Toledo Spirits and Cycle Werks were all retail partners.

Thank you to the Metroparks Toledo Foundation for its leadership, and congratulations on the success of its first campaign. Special thanks also to the members of the treehouse committee: Linda Cannaley, honorary chair; Carrie Alexander, Chair; Ben Batey, Sue Hague-Rogers, Molly Luetke, Leslie Schubargo, Sharon Simmons and
Matt Yarder.

The Cannaley Treehose Village will open in May at Oak Openings Preserve.
