Connecting Parks & Places
Connecting People & Places is a non-profit that serves individuals with developmental disabilities. They reached out through the Metroparks Toledo Recreational Equipment Catalog request some time to check out the adaptive equipment with their group.
What Participants Say
One of the participants, Kendra, said she loves and misses us and the Track Chair was “Awesome” She said she liked that she could move it around on her own. Another participant, Jodie, said her favorite was the blue bike and said she would be back. Dana said she really liked it all and thought it was good idea.
Kim Krieger, staff with Connecting People & Places said, “We had a blast! Thank you for everything! We will be back soon!”
Volunteers & Partners
These programs are possible thanks to deeply committed volunteers and additional support through a partnership with Maumee Valley Adventurers and our Adaptive Program Volunteers. Volunteers transport equipment from park to park, perform basic maintenance like inflating tires and charging electric chairs, and give an orientation to the users.
