Full Moon Meditation
Wildwood Preserve, Manor House lawn
Reservations Required, Free

Join us each month for a meditation on the full moon. We'll discuss information about the upcoming moon cycle and then we'll practice pranayama (breathing exercises) to prepare us for our 20-30 min. meditation.

Many spiritual sages believe that energetic doorways can open during Full Moons, making it easier to receive insights. Insights are "Aha moments." They go to the center of situations, illuminate our stuck places, propel us toward new actions and perspectives. They are liberating. And their intensity can nourish us long after the moment they show up.

"Lunar gaps" is, what astrologer Michael Erlewine calls them, "regular opportunities, joints in the nick of time, when insights are somehow more possible than at other times." The gap opens in our own (normally muddled) mind. It's the Eastern belief that insights appear at certain Moon times because there's a greater likelihood for mental clarity. One of the most auspicious of these lunar times is the Full Moon.

Rain location events will be moved to Wildwood Preserve, Ward Pavilion (east entrance). Participants should bring their own yoga mat, blanket or cushion. Bring your own water bottle.

*All participants and staff that have not received the COVID-19 vaccine must wear a mask for the duration of the program. Mask breaks are allowed when appropriate. Social distancing will be encouraged when possible.

Kirtan is the chanting/singing of ancient chants that contain a transformative power and healing energy. By singing them we join together in a stream of consciousness and devotion, creating an uplifting experience. This is a feel-good event - come alone or bring a friend. Everyone is welcome!
