Location 05

Date: 1945

Owner: Kathy Saco

My father, Kevin Joseph Saco, Sr. was a guard in an internment camp for German POWs during and after WW II. A German POW used a straight pin to etch the flower and designs onto a C. Ration tin can. The initials, FCS stand for Florence Catherine Saco whom my dad married after the war (they were engaged before he went to Europe). The info on the can: Internment Camp 74 (or maybe 14) Ludwigsburg, Germany, 1945, On the bottom: No 15, H. DIETLEL 31444 B 5/56 My parents used the tin during the 1950s-60 to keep their poker pennies in!
