This ashtray was created and designed by Fred Richards for Libbey Glass Company. Fred was a tool and die maker who designed this particular ashtray for himself. After creating this piece, the mold was destroyed. His initials "F. R" are hidden in the design. The ashtray came in a set of 3 that graduated up in size. All three trays are currently used for candy dishes, toothbrush holders, and a jewelry tray.
