Blown Glass Vase by Charles Lotton

Location 170

Date: 1973

Owner: Joshua Eisenhauer

During the early 1970s, Lotton, Chihuly and Sillars were studying and learning glass blowing techniques. My friends Mike Tenchout and Thomas Fisher collected fine art glass. Their home at 2360 Scottwood inspired me to begin collecting art glass as well. Tom mentioned that Lotton had been at TMA when Dale Chihuly and Bruce Sillars were around. I fell in love with the blown vase in the King Tut Design and paper weights made by Sillars, known as Orient and Flume. I think I begged Mike and Tom to sell me the vase for over ten years. They gifted me the vase in 2002 and I will be forever grateful for this work of art.
