Holy bread seal

This Holy bread seal was hand carved. It originally belonged to my great aunt who was one of 13 siblings. They came to this country in the early 1900s to find life after leaving Lebanon. My Great Aunt Beatrice Shalhoup Rooney lived to be 100 passing away in 2019. She was an active member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox cathedral in Toledo Ohio. The church started in the old north end in a time when many of the Arab immigrants lived there. This seal is used by members of the church when making the loaves of bread that are used in the service. Each piece of the carving has a specific meaning and is used to remember the living and deceased members of the parish.
