This iron was left to me by my mother. My mother's name was Mrs. Verna Mae Peacock and she was a resident of the East Toledo Ironwood Area. She left her mark on Toledo because of the care she gave to not only her family but many other families throughout the Toledo area. She was one of the most amazing caregivers that ever lived as we as children watched as she cared for all the widows and widowers in the Ironwood area as well as those who called upon her outside of East Toledo. She was admired for her care that was given to the whole person or family that needed her help. The significance of this iron is the legacy that is attaches to the time, love, and work it was used for that impacted the lives of others through her efforts. As you can see it isn't of very big but the life-changing work it did will live on forever through the memory making moments it has giving to families to share with generations to generations. Mrs. Peacock made history in her own special way.
