The Ridge Trail circles south from the Mallard Lake Area and takes walkers across and along Swan Creek, then up to higher ground to a ridge overlooking the floodplain. Spring wildflowers such as yellow trout lily and spring beauty put on a spectacular display here. Listen for the loud whistle of wood ducks or the honking of Canada Geese floating on the creek.
This trail floods to the point of being impassable whenever Swan Creek breeches it’s banks.
