Wildwood Grasslands Trail

Grasslands Trail after passing through upland woods of Sassafras, Black cherry and Oak, this trail leads to one of the most biologically diverse prairie areas in the preserve, where many state-listed rare plant species and numerous varieties of butterflies make their homes.  Characterized by tall grasses such as Big bluestem and Indian grass that are visible year-round, each August the area also offers a spectacular display of Rough blazing star—a showy purple wildflower with multiple blooms along each of its spikes.

Parking for this trail can be found at any of the parking lots at Wildwood Preserve.
