Comments Sought on Park Projects
Metroparks is planning numerous park improvement projects in 2017, and your comments can help secure grant funding for two of them. Please take a minute to answer just a few short questions about the following.
Chessie Circle Trail
The park district is applying for grant funding to build a parking lot and restroom beside the new Chessie Circle Trail in South Toledo. The development would be on the former site of Beverly Elementary School near the intersection of Detroit Ave. and Copland Blvd. Metroparks portion of the Chessie Circle Trail is 1.4 miles long, from the Maumee River to Glanzman Road. The trail will continue to Laskey Road for a total of 11 miles. Map
Fort Miamis Park in Maumee
Metroparks owns Ft. Miamis Park on River Road at Michigan Avenue in Maumee. The park district plans to enhance the historical site with additional walkways, overlooks and access to the Maumee River.
