Roll Into Summer with Free Skate Rentals Every Wednesday at The Ribbon

Metroparks Toledo has teamed up with S&G to bring you Rollin’ Free Wednesdays at The Ribbon at Glass City Metropark. 

From May 28 through August 27, 2025, roller skate and roller blade rentals will be completely free every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (last call for rentals is at 7 p.m.; available while supplies last). Whether you're a seasoned skater or trying it for the first time, it’s the perfect excuse to get outside and have some fun - on wheels. 

Note: While skate rentals are free on Wednesdays, scooters and skate aids are still available to rent at regular rates, as quantities are limited. 

Where the Fun Starts

The Ribbon is more than an ice and roller skating trail, it's the gateway for outdoor fun at Glass City Metropark. Located between the Grosbeak and Prairie & Pollinator playgrounds, and just steps from the Mini-Maumee Water Play area and The Garden by Poco Piatti restaurant, it's surrounded by opportunities for all-ages fun. Plan a whole day at Glass City Metropark, making The Ribbon your first stop.

The Ribbon roller trail is open daily during park hours and free to use with your own skates, blades or kick scooters. Need equipment? Our rental concession inside Market Hall offers rentals for roller skates, roller blades, Micro Kickboard Scooters and Micro Balance Bikes.
