Stop Food Waste Day

In recognition of the upcoming STOP FOOD WASTE DAY, The Garden by Poco Piatti will be serving up food with a side of FREE prizes to celebrate the zero food waste initiative at Market Hall. Simply order any food or drink at The Garden, pledge to compost your leftover food waste (and plates, cups, utensils) in our designated green public composting bins, and we’ll gift you a complimentary skate rental or rock climbing pass for The Ribbon to use any time this summer.
Thanks to Kroger’s Zero Hunger Zero Waste grant, the zero waste composting initiative at Market Hall launched in November 2024 and has already diverted over 1,600 pounds of food waste from the landfill. Join us in keeping our park clean, green, and fun for everyone!
As part of a broader effort, Metroparks Toledo offers free public composting drop-off sites where you can drop off anytime. Sites are located at:
