Unusual Deer at Side Cut a Rare Beauty
This piebald deer has been turning heads at Side Cut Metropark and nearby in Maumee.
Piebaldism is the result of a genetic abnormality that causes a lack of pigmentation on the deer. (Albino deer have pink eyes, a pink nose and pink-hued hooves, while piebald deer have brown eyes and noses, and black hooves.)
Some sources say that piebald deer make up just 2 percent of the deer population.
The doe has been seen with two fawns.
