Kayak Cove and Adventure Boardwalk

Kayak Share Opens Saturday, May 23, 2026 through Labor Day

The Kayak Cove and Adventure Boardwalk at Glass City Metropark, generously supported by Mercy Health, offers a unique boardwalk experience with a series of interactive bridges over the water, offering some of the best photo spots in town! The boardwalk surrounds the Kayak Cove, providing a safe and accessible access point for Maumee River paddling.

The Kayak Cove features a dock with a convenient ADA accessible roll-off launch - bring your own kayaks or rent one from our kayak share!

Glass City Metropark Kayak Share

The Glass City Metropark Kayak Share lockers will be available starting Saturday, May 22 through Labor Day weekend. See below for instructions on how to use our kayak share:

  • Single Kayaks can be rented by the hour, $20

    Instructions:

    • Download the LINKA GO app to your smartphone. 
    • Create an account and accept the Terms of Service and Kayak Use Waiver.
    • Unlock Kayak Locker
      • Choose Start Rental
      • Enter the 4-digit locker ID found on the locker door
      • Tap locker door to wake the lock, do not press the power button as instructed.
      • Wait for the lock to open
      • Open the locker and remove kayak
    • Return Your Rental
      • Return the kayak, paddle and life vest to the original locker
      • Open App, select the Lock at the bottom of the screen
      • Tap end ride
      • Hold the button on slide to end rental
      • Hold the locker door closed until lock secures

Kayak Sizes/Weight Capacity

  • Single Kayak 11-1/2 foot in length and have a weight capacity of 350 lbs.
  • Single Kayak 9-1/2 foot in length and have a weight capacity of 300 lbs.
  • Tandem Kayaks have a weight capacity of 500 lbs.
