Step into nature and discover all of the activities Metroparks has to offer to get you outside this season. This event launches a new collaborative campaign between Metroparks Toledo and Mercy Health that promotes the power of parks in improving the communities mental and physical well-being.
From the exhilarating thrill of tree climbing to the calming embrace of forest therapy, Outdoor Discovery Day invites everyone—regardless of ability—to explore the great outdoors. Metroparks outdoor experts will be on hand to guide you in discovering your next outdoor passion, while Mercy Health professionals will showcase how time in nature supports mental and physical health. Mercy Health will also offer on-site health screenings and resources, including mobile mammography and mobile heath unit.
This is an inclusive event with staff trained to provide accommodations, including a low sensory zone and adaptive equipment for all abilities. Activities will include:
- Tree Climbing
- Forest Therapy
- Archery
- Canoeing and Kayaking
- Accessible Biking Zone
- And more!
Enjoy music, food trucks, and a full day of connecting to the outdoors at Side Cut Metropark. Join us in celebrating parks as a common ground—because nature is for everyone, and every visit is a chance to recharge, connect and feel your best.
FREE Accessible TARTA Transportation will be available to and from Glass City Metroparks, Enrichment Center to Side Cut for the event. Buses will run from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with pick-up at 815 Front Street, Toledo, Ohio 43605.
Volunteers Needed (Ages 16 and up)
Volunteers are needed to assist with outdoor skills including archery, paddling, and in the kid’s zone. Assistance is also needed with set-up and teardown.
