Celebrate the life and legacy of Sammy Mo Molnar at a one-of-a-kind 6U hockey showcase hosted in his memory at The Ribbon at Glass City Metropark.
Teams and families are invited to register a 6U team to play, watch the hockey action and enjoy public ice skating on The Ribbon trail throughout the event. You do not need to have a hockey player participating to join the fun - everyone is encouraged to come skate, cheer on the players and support the Sammy Mo Molnar Gift Ribbon Program.
The program helps make skating accessible to everyone in Lucas County by providing free admission and skate rentals to thousands of people each year.

Register your 6U team for this special showcase at The Pond rink area. Game times will be announced closer to the event.
6U Hockey Showcase Highlights
- Sammy Mo 6U Hockey Showcase at The Pond rink area, with game times to be announced
- Public skating on The Ribbon ice skating trail throughout the showcase
- Tournament viewing from along The Ribbon or indoors at Market Hall
- A family-friendly menu at The Garden by Poco Piatti, including pizza, s’mores, hot chocolate and other warm drinks
Skate for Sammy on The Ribbon Ice Skating Trail
The Ribbon ice skating trail will remain open for public skating throughout the 6U Hockey Showcase
Public skating will be available from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 13. The Pond rink area will be reserved for showcase games and closed to public skating, but the full Ribbon ice skating trail will remain open.
Come watch the hockey games, skate with family and friends and help celebrate Sammy’s life and love of skating. Everyone is welcome, whether or not you have a player participating in the showcase.
Proceeds from ice skating on February 13 will benefit the Sammy Mo Molnar Gift Ribbon Program, which provides free skating admission and skate rentals to thousands of people each year.

Sammy Mo’s Story
Sammy's passion for hockey and skating brought joy and connection to all who knew him. His journey—from determined mini-mite skater to high school and travel hockey champion—was a testament to his spirit, grit, and love for the sport. Additionally, his welcoming smile and heart-warming laugh allowed him to become friends with anyone he met. Sammy cared so much about all people and wanted nothing more for all to be happy.
Since the opening of The Ribbon, Sammy brought all of these passions together, along with creating precious memories skating with his mom, Jill.
In his memory, the Sammy Mo Molnar Gift Ribbon Program ensures all Lucas County residents can share in that joy, breaking down barriers for families to experience the magic of skating.
